Encryption no one has to explain.
And that no one can bypass. Not even us.
Why CRYMBL exists
Confidential documents, credentials, contracts – every day they are sent the most insecure way there is: in plaintext. Not out of carelessness, but because the secure way used to be either too complicated – keys, certificates, special software – or not truly private: the provider could read along. That is exactly the gap CRYMBL closes.
Our story
CRYMBL began in autumn 2025 at a kitchen table in a small village near Lohmar – with a question that would not let us go: why is it still easier to email a password unencrypted than to share it securely?
Of course tools for this existed. But their servers usually sat outside the EU, their interfaces were plastered with ads, or the path to an encrypted link led through cumbersome procedures and sign-ups. Secure, simple and in European hands – that combination simply was not there.
That question turned into a clear conviction: confidentiality must not require expert knowledge – and the provider must simply not be able to read the content. Not as a courtesy, but ruled out by design.
That is how CRYMBL's zero-knowledge principle came about: everything is encrypted and decrypted in your browser; our servers only ever hold ciphertext. Built and operated in Germany. Today, CRYMBL launches.
Four principles, no fine print
Privacy by design
Confidentiality is the default, not an option.
Simplicity
Security you don't have to learn.
Data sovereignty
Built and hosted in Germany, GDPR-native.
Transparency
We don't promise not to read your data. We can't.
The team behind CRYMBL
Behind CRYMBL is a small, close-knit team that would rather talk about the principle than about itself.
Ingo
Computer scientist and entrepreneur through and through. Owns the idea behind CRYMBL and its strategic direction – and built the core of CRYMBL himself.
Rona
Turns strong encryption into an interface no one has to explain – so security becomes a matter of course.
Leo
Brings the design to life in the browser – fast, accessible and reliable on every device.
Hans
Keeps the legal framework in view – from data protection to contracts, so confidentiality holds up in law too.
Daniela
Tests every flow for clarity – so security never gets in the way but simply feels right.
